This is a California Waterfowl-owned property encompassing 2,200 acres in Wasco, roughly eight miles south of Kern National Wildlife Refuge. In 2014, CWA reconstructed 300 acres of wetlands on the Houchin Unit to improve water use efficiency and promote the growth of waterfowl food plants such as swamp timothy and watergrass.

There will be three hunters per blind and hunters can hunt all day! Each blind has about 3-4 dozen decoys provided. Species of take are waterfowl, doves and pheasant. With the right weather and during the season, hunters will be able to take dove and pheasant on CWA’s Badger Almond Unit.

Goose Lake is a 2,175-acre property in the historic Tulare Basin, which California Waterfowl is proud to help restore. Blind 1 is wheelchair-accessible, and blind stools are provided. One member of the hunting party must be able to push the blind out to the desired hunt location. Hunters may hunt all day! Cost: Free

Rancho Visalia is located in northern Kern County, west of Delano. The 640-acre club  has three ponds that make up 115 acres of wetlands. The club was founded in 1945.

Special conditions: Hunters will arrive the night before for dinner, etc. Food and lodging included.

Cost: Free

Burbank Land Club was established in 1927 in Kern County. The club consists of 300 acres of flooded natural wetlands heavy with swamp timothy and watergrass. Walk with ease on concrete walkways to the well-placed sunken blinds with swinging top lids.

Special conditions: Food and lodging provided. No gauges larger than 12. Hunters arrive the day before the hunt.

Hunt dates: January 18-20

The 160-acre Santura Duck Club is located in Wasco near the Kern National Wildlife Refuge. Dinner, breakfast and lodging is included. This waterfowl hunt will be guided.

Special conditions: Hunters will arrive the day before the hunt for dinner. Food and lodging included.
