BURBANK LAND CLUB

Application Type: Veteran Hunt Program

Cost: Free

Burbank Land Club was established in 1927 in Kern County. The Club consists of 300 acres of flooded natural wetlands consisting of swamp timothy and water grass. Walk with ease on concrete walkways to the well placed sunken blinds with swinging top lids and enjoy flights of teal, widgeon, pintail, and many others. Food and lodging is provided on this hunt but no gauges larger than 12 gauge.

GOOSE LAKE

Application type: Lottery

Houchin Unit: (Capacity 3 hunters per blind). This is a California Waterfowl owned property encompassing 2,200 acres located in Wasco, CA roughly 8 miles south of Kern National Wildlife Refuge in Kern County. In 2014, we reconstructed 300-acres of wetlands on the Houchin Unit to improve water use efficiency and promote the growth of waterfowl food plants, such as swamp timothy and watergrass.

If the Mobility Impaired blind is needed please apply to blind #1. Blind #1 has the option to shoot blind #1 or 2 or free roam in unit.

Blind #1- (3-Man Mobility Impaired-Floating Stand-Up). Winner of Blind #1 has choice to hunt Blind #1 or 2.
Blind #2 – (3-Man Stand-Up Blind with dog stand). Winner of Blind #1 has option to hunt Blind #1 or 2 or free roam in unit.
Blinds #3-8 (3-Man Pit Blinds with dog boxes)

GOOSE LAKE – Dove

Application type: First Come First Served

CWA’s Goose Lake property located just south of Lost Hills, CA consists of 2,175 acres of total habitat. Known for its stellar dove hunts, participants will be allowed to hunt over different upland food/hunting plots. During the September dove season, swarms of dove utilize the safflower food plots, wheat fields, eucalyptus tree lines, upland habitat, and water in the canal lines. 8 groups will be available each hunt day.

SANTURA DUCK CLUB—VETERAN HUNT

Application type: Special veteran hunt

Cost: Free

The 160-acre Santura Duck Club is located in Wasco near the Kern National Wildlife Refuge. Dinner, breakfast and lodging is included. This waterfowl hunt will be guided.

Special conditions: Hunters will arrive the day before the hunt for dinner. Food and lodging included.
