The Delta King is one of the premier duck clubs on Grizzly Island. With over 600 acres and numerous blinds, the hunters will have the right opportunity to shoot working birds. Through the club’s ranch manager, the ponds have been manicured to attract a large variety of waterfowl. Hunters will be taken right to the blind by boat and enjoy a morning shoot.

DENVERTON

Application type: Lottery

This is a California Waterfowl-owned property encompassing 762 acres and located in the Suisun Marsh off Highway 12. Six hunting groups will be allowed each hunt date, giving every group a chance for a memorable hunt. The hunt area consists of three XFowler floating blinds and three Black Box pit blinds. One of the XFowler blinds is wheelchair accessible and able to float from the parking lot to the desired location in the pond. Decoys are provided.

DENVERTON—MI/VETERAN BLIND

Application type: Lottery

Denverton is a 762-acre formerly private duck club in the Suisun Marsh. Assigned Pond MI/VET is wheelchair accessible, and blind stools are provided. One member of the hunting party must be able to push the blind out to the desired hunt location.  Learn more about Denverton here.

DENVERTON AND GRIZZLY RANCH WOMEN’S HUNTS

Application type: First-come, first-served

Cost: $150

Dates: Grizzly Ranch, Nov. 9-10, 2018; Denverton, Jan. 4-5, 2019

CWA hosts two women’s waterfowl hunts at Grizzly Ranch and Denverton, CWA’s properties in the Suisun Marsh. The hunts include overnight lodging, meals on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, hunt guides, CWA membership and loaner gear.

Each blind will be staffed by a CWA volunteer guide. The guide will take care of waterfowl identification, regulations, gun safety, bird retrieval and game calling. These hunting opportunities are great for new or longtime hunters looking for a great waterfowl hunting experience.

FAMILY CLUB

This 250-acre Suisun Marsh duck club is located adjacent to Highway 680 just north of the “Mothball Fleet.” This is one of the premier duck clubs of the Suisum Marsh, with open water that offers superb pintail and teal hunting. Due to its location along the Goodyear Slough, this club has been known to offer great mallard hunting given the right conditions. Hunters will take a UTV (provided) and walk about 200 yards to the blind. Come experience one of the friendliest clubs in the marsh and have a great hunt too.

FAMILY CLUB—YOUTH HUNT WEEKEND

This 250-acre Suisun Marsh duck club is located adjacent to Highway 680 just north of “Mothball Fleet.” This is one of the premier duck clubs in the Suisun Marsh. The club is primarily open water, which offers great pintail and teal hunting. Due to its location along Goodyear Slough, this club has been known to offer great mallard hunting given the right conditions. Hunters will take a UTV (provided) and walk (about 200 yards) to the blind.

Capacity: One junior and one non-shooting adult chaperone. Three groups will be drawn for this hunt.

Decoys and transportation to and from the blinds is provided. Overnight lodging is included. Ten groups of two hunters will be drawn on each hunt date. Hunters will draw for blinds the morning of the hunt.

GRIZZLY RANCH—FAMILY HUNT PROGRAM

This special hunt opportunity offers fun and exciting waterfowl experiences for new and experienced hunters alike. The two-day event includes overnight lodging prior to the hunt, a boat ride to the blind, breakfast, lunch and a hunt in a well-managed wetland in the Suisun Marsh with very low hunting pressure. The night prior to the hunt also includes an education portion, where participants learn essential waterfowl identification and regulations, blind set-up and firearm safety skills.

The hunt is $150 for one junior and one adult or $225 for two juniors and one adult. The fee includes a Sprig membership and regular membership to California Waterfowl, as well as lodging and food. For a schedule of the event, blind averages and more, click here.

This three-day event includes workshops on hunting skills and game processing, lodging, and Saturday and Sunday morning hunts at CWA’s Grizzly Ranch in Solano County.

Lodging and meals are included.

Special conditions: Women must be at least 21 years old. Event is for women who have hunted ducks five times or fewer, and they must already have a valid hunting license and required stamps/validations. Individuals may attend two consecutive years.
