BUCKSHOT DUCK CLUB—VETERAN HUNT

Application type: Special veteran hunt

Cost: Free

Located in the Grasslands of Los Banos, the Buckshot Duck Club is a 300-acre open water duck club.

Special conditions: Hunters will arrive Friday night for dinner. Food and lodging included.

GUSTINE GUN CLUB—VETERAN HUNT

Application type: Special veteran hunt

Cost: Free

The Gustine Gun Club is claimed to be the oldest club in the Grasslands. With a deep waterfowl history and great wing shooting, Gustine is a great destination for any waterfowl hunter. Hunters will arrive Tuesday night before the scheduled hunt for Hors d’oeuvres, dinner and to meet the hosting club members.

Special conditions: Participants will arrive the day before the hunt. Food and lodging included.

GREENWING GUN CLUB

Application Type: Lottery

The Greenwing Gun Club, located in Los Banos, is comprised of 100 acres and centered in the heart of the South Grasslands. This Central Valley club is home to multiple different species of wintering waterfowl throughout the season. Greenwing Gun Club is smack dab in the heart of quality shooting and is known for big birds: pintail, wigeon, and gadwall shooting.  Big open ponds, with strategic tule cover help put birds in close shooting distance. The lucky hunter will be accompanied by a member of the Greenwing Gun Club in a pit blind of the club’s choice and decoys will be provided. The hunt will be on a mutually agreeable TBD mid-week late December hunt date.

HOLLISTER LAND & CATTLE CO.—VETERAN HUNT

Application type: Special veteran hunt

Cost: Free

The Holllister Land and Cattle Co. boosts strong history in the Grasslands — neighboring the Gustine Gun Club. With over 2,500 acres, the Hollister is a top-producing club. Hunters will arrive Tuesday night before the scheduled hunt for Hors d’oeuvres, dinner and to meet the hosting club members.

Special conditions: Participants will arrive the Friday before the Saturday hunt. Food and lodging included.

MIDWAY LAND & CATTLE

Application type: Lottery

Midway Land & Cattle, LLC has generously donated a hunt day on their 352 acre property with four pothole blinds and five open-water blinds. Hunt from stand-up or concrete blinds with gravel paths for easy access. Decoys are provided. Hunt will take place on a mutually agreeable date in Dec-Jan.

Capacity: Two hunters per blind.

Redwood Land and Cattle

Application type: Lottery

Redwood Land and Cattle is located in the North Grasslands of Los Banos, CA. This Central Valley club totals 185 acres and has one of the strongest historical shooting records in the area. The property is bordered by other private clubs, and surrounded by the San Luis, Los Banos, Kesterson and Volta Refuges. RL&C offers an exceptional multi-species waterfowl experience. Pressure on the club is relatively light, which allows ducks to work into the ponds after the heavier early shooting in the marsh subsides. Patience is frequently rewarded with more selective shooting opportunities at decoying birds. The hunt will take place in well concealed cement blinds. Hunters will take a gravel path to the blind. Hunt will be with a member of Redwood Land and Cattle and decoys will be provided.

The “111” Duck Club

Application Type: Veteran Hunt Program

Cost: Free

It’s called the 111 because it is 111 acres of prime duck country right in the middle of the best duck hunting the grasslands have to offer. This privately owned club will provide comfortable accommodations, easy access blinds, and A LOT of ducks. The fortunate Veteran hunters will enjoy an afternoon of pre-scouting, enjoy a pre-hunt dinner, and wake-up with a fully guided hunt to include decoys, blinds, and ducks.

Special conditions: Hunters will meet the afternoon of the day before the hunt and enjoy a dinner with your host, then settle in for history of duck hunting days past while you wait for shoot time! The whistle of wings will certainly follow shortly thereafter!
