Military Appreciation Fun Shoot – July 28
If you are currently serving or have served in the military come on out for our FREE Military Appreciation Fun Shoot on July 28 at Grizzly Ranch, in Suisun Marsh south of Fairfield. Yes, you can bring guests!
Beginning shooters will enjoy certified trained instruction in gun safety, shotgun, rifle and archery. All guns, ammunition & targets included! Experienced shooters will enjoy a 50-target sporting clay course. There are morning and afternoon sessions.

Who can register/attend? Anyone who is currently serving or has served in the military, naval or air service and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.
Can I bring guests? Yes, the veteran can bring family members or friends as guests/participants. The veteran must attend with guests.
What is the minimum age for guests? Recommended age 8+ and up.
How much does the event cost? Free!
Can I attend two sessions? Yes, you can attend the morning Beginner Session and Sporting Clays Group B or both the Sporting Clays Group A and Group B.
What is provided? Instruction on Beginner Session only (archery, rifle and shotgun), shells, clay targets, lunch and beverages
What’s the schedule?
8:30 a.m.: Check-in for the Beginner Session and Sporting Clays Group A
11 a.m.: Check-in for Sporting Clays Group B ( Beginner stations will only run in the first session.
Beginner Session-Shooting Instruction
Arrive by 8:30 a.m. for check-in and safety speech before instruction begins. Shooting instruction for beginners goes 9 a.m. to noon.
Bring your own shotgun or use ours – we have .410, 20 and 12 gauge firearms available. Rifles and archery equipment provided. All ammunition and targets are provided.
Sporting clays course is open 9 a.m.-3 p.m. There are five challenging target stations, total 50 clays. Groups will be able to shoot more than 50 rounds if room and time allows. (No shooting instruction).
Sporting Clays Group A: Show up at 8:30 a.m. for check-in and safety speech
Sporting Clays Group B: Show up at 11:30 a.m. for check-in, safety speech and lunch.
Note: We have 12 gauge and 20 gauge ammunition on site for everyone. If you want to bring your own, you must shoot non-toxic loads!
- Ear and eye protection. Both items are available onsite.
- No open toed shoes
- No alcohol
- Bring your own shotgun if shooting sporting clays. Keep unloaded, cased and locked in car when you arrive. If you need a firearm, please contact Jeff Smith.
- Ammunition is provided. If you would like to bring your own, it must be non-toxic.
- Food and drinks are provided.
