Novice Adult Pheasant Hunt Weekend (includes Hunter Ed) – Oct 3-4 2020
This year’s event at Birds Landing Hunting Preserve & Sporting Clays is modeled on our successful Novice Women’s Pheasant Hunt Weekend: Participants complete hunter education, receive safety and shooting instruction and go on a hunt the next morning! It’s a fast and easy way to give hunting a try without a major commitment of time or money – all gear is provided.

Note: If there is room, spots will be opened up two weeks before the event for adults who have already earned their hunter education certificates. Call Sarahbeth Gonsalves at 559-972-3441 to see if spots are available.
Who may attend: Adults seeking to get their hunter’s education and hunt license for the first time.
Ages: 21 and up
Cost: $350 per person, which includes meals, dorm style lodging, hunting license and upland stamp (bird cleaning is available at Birds Landing for an additional fee), 1 year CWA membership and all equipment
Cancellation: $330 refund if we can fill your spot (cost of camp minus $20 cancellation fee); no refund if you cancel too late for us to fill the spot. Participant retains membership benefit in the event of cancellation.
Do I need a hunting license? No, your hunting license and upland stamps will be provided after you pass your hunter safety test.

Can I bring my hunting dog? No, outside dogs are not allowed at this clinic.
Where does the hunting take place? All the hunting and shooting will take place at Birds Landing Hunting Preserve. Check out this awesome place HERE
Where does everyone sleep? All participants sleep in a bunk house equipped with bunk beds. Bunk rooms hold up to 3 participants. If you would like to share a room with someone in particular, you may indicate so during registration.
What do I bring?
-Outdoor clothing: Sturdy pants, hat, gloves, closed toed shoes or boots, camera, and layer able clothes.
-Overnight gear: includes sleeping bag, pillow, etc. Indoor sleeping facilities with restrooms are provided for everyone.

Do I need prior shotgun shooting experience? No, you do not need prior shotgun shooting experience but it does help if you do!
Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- 4-hour hunter education course (participants must complete 6-8 hours self-study time prior to camp)
- Shooting practice and gun safety training
- Dinner and overnight bunk style lodging available at CWA’s Denverton facility
Sunday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Guided pheasant hunt in the morning
