WINE PROGRAM

2008 Hunting Heritage Wine Available Now!

California Waterfowl would like to announce a new and exciting wine program to compliment its previous wine releases. Lee Leardini, a Life Member and co-founder of the California Waterfowl Wine Committee has provided California Waterfowl with an opportunity to procure small amounts of premium Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, in addition to other varietals including Zinfandel, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc. The new wine program will provide our members with products to enjoy and be proud to share.

“We shall source small lots of premium wines and present them to our members at affordable prices,” said Leardini. “Our previous wines were quite good, but these new selections will be far and away our best wine ever. I am very excited and optimistic that our members will be very, very happy with the results.”

The winery we have selected to assist us is called Trek Winery, and is based in Sonoma. Andy Podshadley is Trek’s owner/winemaker, and he has 15 years experience in winemaking. Trek released its first commercial vintages in 2008 and won a silver medal at the California State Fair for its 2007 Chardonnay.

We launched the new premium wine program with the California Waterfowl 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Dry Creek Region of Sonoma and 2007 Chardonnay from the Alexander Valley at the Colusa Dinner in December, and both wines were received with enthusiasm (we sold all the wine we had that night). California Waterfowl is proud to offer you these two fine wines for your enjoyment. Salute.
