NEW VIDEO HELPS FIND COMMON GROUND

California Waterfowl is shining the light on hunting with the first-ever video that can resonate with your non-hunting friends.  Through it, we hope you can find common ground, create opportunities for open dialogue, and promote a deeper understanding of hunting’s place in the balance of nature.  But be ready with your own personal experiences and invitations to get outdoors because this video will make your friends curious and ready to know more about why you choose to hunt.

We are excited about the video “Why Hunt?” because it captures the underlying emotions and conveys how hunting intimately connects us to our environment, through our participation in the natural world and the food we procure, eat, and share with others.  And it does so in a way that resonates with hunters and non-hunters alike.

California Waterfowl’s members are passionately committed to the environment and are outstanding stewards of the land.  As a hunter-supported conservation organization, it’s important to for us to be the positive voice for hunting.  Studies show that most non-hunters are not strongly opposed to legal, regulated hunting, but they can’t support it without knowing the specific ways hunting relates to, depends on, and supports, wildlife management and conservation.

“With this video and our other outreach efforts, California Waterfowl is unabashedly promoting the roots of our tireless and generous support for conservation, our passion for hunting.” said President Bob McLandress. “We don’t expect others to share our desires to hunt, but we implore them to get outdoors, actively participate and enjoy all that the natural world has to offer - we are asking everyone to join us in the hunt for a better California.”

The video, like most of California Waterfowl’s conservation work, was made possible through generous volunteer support.  Special thanks go out to dedicated member and volunteer videographer Jay Goble and Frontier Media Productions for the hours of time and dedication in producing this video.
