POST SEASON

Special Youth Hunt Weekend for Junior Hunters

On February 3rd and 4th, juniors can hunt public and private lands. Note that the Colorado River zone is open only on February 3rd and the Northeastern zone is closed. For these post-season hunts, youths must be age 15 or under, and adult chaperones are not permitted to hunt. The regular season daily bag limits apply. Make reservations through the regular reservation system or show up for first-come, first-served access. Private Land Hunt Opportunities

Although most deadlines have passed, contact Sally at (916) 648-1406 or cwaeducation@calwaterfowl.org to check for last minute hunting opportunities on private lands.

The following private clubs are still taking applications for the upcoming Youth Waterfowl Hunt:

Santa Cruz Duck Club
Hunt Date: Saturday, February 3, 2007
Accommodations for 3 youths with accompanying adults.
Lodging and dinner provided Friday night with breakfast Saturday morning.

Riverfield Duck Club
Located in the South Grasslands (near Los Banos and Dos Palos)
Hunt Date: Saturday, February 3, and Sunday, February 4, 2007.
Accommodations for 3 youths with accompanying adults each day.
Lodging provided the night before the each hunt day.
