CONSERVATION / WILDLIFE EDUCATION INTERNSHIP

Use your skills and knowledge to teach kids about waterfowl, wetlands, and conservation. Help students learn to observe, discover, and get active! Interact with staff, volunteers, children and the public in a positive, motivating manner as a representative of CWA. Interns develop displays, make presentations, write youth articles, attend festivals, and more to teach about wetlands, wildlife, and conservation.

Qualifications: Applicants require basic wildlife/conservation biology knowledge, public speaking skills, and general knowledge of waterfowl, wetland habitats, and art. Pursuit of a degree in wildlife biology, conservation education, interpretation, or related field is preferred. Interns should be interested in waterfowl, wetlands issues, and enjoy working with youngsters ages 6 to 16. The interns must be energetic, organized, reliable, and self-motivated. Screening processes include a DMV records check and fingerprinting/background check.

Work Site, Term, and Compensation: The Internship will be based in Sacramento. One position is available for the spring (April--June), and one is available for the summer (July--September.). Both internships will be part time, approximately 10 hours per week. Compensation for both positions is $8.00 per hour.
