2011 summer youth banding

Band with CWA biologists in the Suisun Marsh!
California Waterfowl members, ages 10-17, are invited to help CWA biologists in the field on Tuesday, July 19th or Tuesday, August 2nd. Upon arrival participants will suit up in waders and make their way to one of our Grizzly Island Wildlife Area banding sites. Participants will have the opportunity to help biologists band and release captured waterfowl and ask questions about career paths in related fields. Biologists will teach participants about the importance of banding for hunters and waterfowl populations.
While it is highly recommended participants bring their own waders, California Waterfowl will have various sizes available for use. Participants MUST have their own transportation to and from the Grizzly Island Wildlife Area, and a guardian is required to stay the duration of the event. The day will start promptly at 9:00 am and wrap up around 11:00 am. Only registered participants may partake in banding and the associated activities of the day.
