TURK STATION BEGINNING CAMP



Even Elvis braved the 110 degree heat to learn about hunter safety.		Ross Allen from Turk Station Lodge was our gracious host and helped teach the hunter safety course.




Turk Station Hunting Lodge has a rifle range that campers used for .22 practice (background) and a trap station for shotgunning.		Audrey (Fresno Wildlife Rehabilitation Center) got help from Ross Allen and John Olsen to display these animals.




Mitchell takes a rest next to bear skins, beavers, wolves and a host of other animal skins.		Joe Arnold dressed in waterfowl hunting gear and helped teach the campers what’s required to get out in the marsh.




Tim Kroeker from CA DFG brought his waterfowl wing collection and discussed identifying waterfowl.		It’s 5 minutes to shoot time, lets get the decoy spread set up.



The Birdwell Ranch hike (hosted by sisters Linda Andersen and Nancy Birdwell) was a great experience for the campers to learn about wildlife, plants and the outdoors.		Hiking in the beautiful Coalinga countryside where we saw quail and deer was quite strenuous.
