EDUCATION

Reaching for Tomorrow

Hands-on Learning
CWA offers many fun and educational opportunities for youngsters, students, and adults. Whether you’re interested in recreation, exploring nature, or volunteering, we have something for you. Build your skills so you can enjoy and benefit the great outdoors.

A Step at a Time
CWA helps people of all ages jump into learning and grow toward the common goal of stewardship. Introductory programs offer school and community activities and resources to teach the basics of conservation and the outdoors. Intermediate programs foster more intensive learning and participation in conservation and recreation. Advanced mentoring and continuing education networks that train tomorrow’s conservation leaders are also available.

The Focus
CWA is working to develop a strong conservation ethic and sense of stewardship among California’s citizenry, both youth and adult. Our programs:
• Build the public’s knowledge of wildlife and wetlands in California

• Foster enthusiasm for conservation and recreation
• Ensure ongoing participation through motivational projects and skills training
• Mentor individuals and organizations to build a network of educational experiences and action
• Provide avenues for stewardship activities

Services
To facilitate conservation education throughout the state, we have developed a variety of materials, displays, and field programs. To be effective for such a large statewide audience, CWA hosts workshops, networks with partners, and uses an extensive volunteer force.
