Post Season Pintail Banding Concludes in NE California

California Waterfowl pintail banding crews have moved on to Northeastern California and have been subjected to some extreme weather. Despite the harsh conditions, crews have completed four net releases totaling 518 pintail! The latest capture occurred this morning at Lower Klamath and concluded our post season banding efforts. Totals for 2012 are: 1,103 pintail, 614 American wigeon, four Eurasian wigeon and two hybrids. 1,721 total ducks banded!
